HansaText was founded in 1996 by Karen Selma Mariendal. She holds a Master of Arts degree (Cand. Philol.) with a major in German from the University of Oslo and has worked as an editor and marketing specialist at Kunnskapsforlaget, among other positions. Mariendal is a member of the Norwegian Association of Literary Translators.

HansaText provides translations of all types of texts between German, English, Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian.

HansaText offers professional translation and language services to clients both domestically and internationally. We specialize in translating books and documents with high precision and literary quality.

HansaText also operates as a literary agent for Norwegian authors in German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland), as well as in Denmark, Sweden, France, and the United Kingdom.
